Arc42
Arc42¶
Arc42 is a pragmatic framework for architecture documentation that treats the architecture document as a companion to the code rather than a separate artifact that drifts out of sync. Its twelve sections guide teams to record not just what the system looks like but why it was built that way, which decisions were deliberate, and which constraints shaped the design. Storing Arc42 documents close to the source code encourages teams to update them as the system evolves.
